Essential Oil Blends

The blends offered here were developed many years ago based on clients needs and work well. The individual essential oils need to be understood as all are potent on their own, thus the brief descriptions.

Many of the oils are very expensive, hard to source and often times unavailable. We consider many factors when choosing oils to work with. The country of origin, climate, time of harvest, chemical analysis and availability are all factored in, and are reflected in the price.

For a more in-depth exploration of the essential oils, consider the class offerings.

Essential oils in the blend:

Niaouli MQV It is known for being a strong anti-viral, anti-bacterial, and anti-fungal agent. Considered to be one of the best oils for opening up the sinuses, and clearing the respiratory tract. The niaouli oils are in the tea tree family, but are more gently stimulating.  Niaouli is considered an excellent antiseptic for treating pulmonary infections such as bronchitis and sinus. Excellent for chest infections, bronchitis, asthma and sinusitis. May be used in place of Tea Tree when the smell of Tea Tree is found objectionable.

Being a  strong bronchodilator, is greatly beneficial to reduce wheezing and assist with symptoms of asthma. Highly anti-inflammatory as well as having anti-histamine  properties. The inky blue oil helps release irritation on a mental/emotional level and not overreact to irritating situations or people. This lovely aromatic herb produces a beautiful blue potent oil. Global scarcity has driven up the price, but it is well worth the cost. The  synergy of the combined oils works to increase the full potential of each plant, so very little is needed for a powerful effect.

Hyssop vr. Decumbens works by loosening mucous to help relieve bronchial congestion and reduce bronchial spasms and inflammation. The effect is one of calming nerves and promoting relaxation. - Kurt Schnaubelt, Advanced Aromatherapy

“Inula Graveolens was given early recognition in L’aromatherapie exactement as one of the strongest mucolytic essential oils. It counteracts candida in the Bronchial system and tonifies the heart. It has become an aromatherapy highlight through a combination of factors. It is indeed a highly effective mucolytic agent.”

- Kurt Schnaubelt, The Healing Intelligence of Essential Oils

Green myrtle is non-irritating and non-sensitizing. This makes it an appropriate oil to treat chronic lung conditions, colds and infections in children and the elderly. People dealing with respiratory problems, including asthma, cough, and bronchitis, may benefit from myrtle oil as well because of its expectorant properties (removes excess mucus from your respiratory tract).

Fragonia TM (Agonis fragrans). “I’ve seen case studies where the use of Fragonia Oil has had amazing results with people suffering from intractable respiratory infections.
Dr. Penoel (the producer of this particular chemotype of Agonis) strongly recommends it for all respiratory disorders, whether in sinus areas or in the lungs. It is also said to stimulate and enhance the immune system. This oil seems to have amazingly strong emotional effects, having a deep action on the psyche. There are case studies of people with longstanding emotional blockages who were able to find release. The essential oil seems to both release tension and have a relaxing/calming effect on the mind. Dr. Peneol says that the use of Fragonia at bedtime will improve the depth and the relaxing effects of sleep.” https://www.naturesgift.com/product/fragonia-essential-oil/

Sleep Blend
Sleep

Essential oils in the blend:

Jatamansi, also known as Himalayan spikenard, is calming and grounding and supports deep sleep. Those who suffer from worry or overactive thoughts will benefit from regular use. Useful when dealing with grief.

Spikenard oil is in the same family and similar in quality to valerian, but is considered preferable because it is less dulling in its effects and possesses a sweeter and more pleasant fragrance.

Vetiver is deeply calming, balancing and restorative. It assists with rejuvenation on all levels and aids relaxation. Regular use promotes deep and revitalizing sleep.

Palmarosa is both calming and uplifting. It supports deep sleep, uplifts, calms and settles the mood. Can offer relief from states of insecurity, grief, or defensiveness.

Bergamot  has powerful mood uplifting and stabilizing effects. It reduces nervous tension and feelings of stress and anxiety. This powerful oil can stimulate hormones, such as dopamine and serotonin, which create feelings of sedation and relaxation

Hops essential oil helps ease sleeping problems via inhalation. Hops oil is often combined with valerian root oil in order to treat insomnia and anxiety.

Studies indicate that hops may have properties similar to melatonin, which helps regulate sleep, and compounds that promote relaxation.

Nutmeg

A natural chemical called trimyristin found in nutmeg has been shown to have the effect of stimulating and increasing the duration of sleep in animals. Nutmeg may relieve restless sleep associated with nervousness, worries, exhaustion and feelings of overwhelm.

Add several drops to a  diffuser at night, or put one drop on the bottom and sides of each great toe. This is the pineal and pituitary reflex in reflexology.

The more adventurous may place a drop under the nose and perhaps experience vivid dreams...but this does not guarantee restful sleep...lol.
